Wily as Serpents Peaceful as Doves

Retaliation is an indulgence.

Every living being has the same basic wish: to avoid suffering. It has been our main wish since the beginning of time and it is with us all the time.

Turning the other cheek is not what most people think. There is a third way to solve problems. The Buddhists say stop and take that little second of decision and put it to use.

Don’t get Hungry, Angry, Lonely or Tired.

When things go wrong in our lives and we encounter difficult situations we tend to regard the situation itself as the problem, but in reality whatever problems we experience come from the mind. If we were to respond to difficult situations with a positive or peaceful mind they would not be problems.

We may even come to regard them as challenges or opportunities for growth and development.

Next time Don’t fight. Don’t run.

Look for the third option.

I didn’t think of being wily as looking for vengeance. This is too unspecific to answer ,my question.
