Stalk the Walk

How many of us are so curious that we have become “spies” on social media? Googling each others names and images.

I admit, Facebook is a great tool to find old friends and connect. But Yikes!! I spent hours finding old friends and checking out my friend’s pages which was fun, until it got to be a real time sucker. I can get addicted to any thing. I googled every one I know.. sounds naughty.

So, Un-Hooking a bit has been an Un-Noising experience.

Has Social media enhanced our fantasy world giving us our 15 minutes of fame and windows into other’s lives?

In this world of living our lives online, do we yearn for attention? We become stars on amongst our thousands of “friends” who find our posts and comments fascinating? We can pretend anything!!!

Are we inviting people to stalk us?

Is Facebook slowly dying and becoming the new MySpace? or a useful tool for uprisings and revolutions?

Has social media played out as a place where parents can spy on their kids and cheaters can be caught? A place for cowardly, passive aggressive behavior and a playground for bullies.

God I miss that..

I don’t know any one who hasn’t had a weird, uncomfortable experience on social media.

But there are many who have met their true loves, found lost friends and family on Facebook so go figgur..

whatevah..

1. stalker
It seems to be that the term ‘stalker’ no longer means what it used to mean–the pathological ANONYMOUS follower and tab-keeper of another person or persons (A detective who has not been hired and has no real reason to follow someone). The old definition also would say that a ‘stalker’ often has an imaginary connection with the stalkee. HOWEVER, common usage of the term, along with the term ‘creepy’, has come to be used as a defense mechanism for anyone seeking justification for not being attracted socially or physically to someone else. This term is nearly as overdiagnosed as ADHD is in children. Any women who think an undesirable man might be interested in her will almost always automatically label him a stalker. Note: Far too many idiots think they’re more important than they really are. Real stalkers seek out beautiful, interesting, and often famous members of the attractive gender. 90 percent of the people who use the term couldn’t get a real stalker to save their lives.
A hot girl who follows you around and shows up at your door is a friend. A not so hot girl who follows you around and shows up at your door is now, according to most, a stalker. A hot guy who gives you flowers is a romantic. A not so hot guy who gives you flowers is a stalker.

2. Stalker
a person obsessed with another to the point of insanity. I.E. following one everywhere, calling constantly, not following restraining orders, collecting their hair in shower drains.

(This song is about an obsessed fan. Sarah herself said on VHI Storytellers, “I wrote this song to try to get into the shoes of the obsessed fan so that I can try to find a way to deal with it.”
Listen as the wind blows
From across the great divide
Voices trapped in yearning
Memories trapped in time
The night is my companion
And solitude my guide
Would I spend forever here
And not be satisfiedAnd I would be the one
To hold you down
Kiss you so hard
I’ll take your breath away
And after I’d wipe away the tears
Just close your eyes dearThrough this world I’ve stumbled
So many times betrayed
Trying to find an honest word
To find the truth enslaved
Oh you speak to me in riddles and
You speak to me in rhymes
My body aches to breathe your breath
You words keep me aliveAnd I would be the one
To hold you down
Kiss you so hard
I’ll take your breath away
And after I’d wipe away the tears
Just close your eyes dearInto this night I wander
It’s morning that I dread
Another day of knowing of
The path I fear to tread
Oh into the sea of waking dreams
I follow without pride
Nothing stands between us here
And I won’t be deniedAnd I would be the one
To hold you down
Kiss you so hard
I’ll take your breath away
And after I’d wipe away the tears
Just close your eyes dear
