Be Authentic!Posted: July 20, 2011
We all have a story an image of ourselves of who we believe we are. Some of us may say, I am a loner or I am a goofball or I am stupid or whatever. We say “That’s the way I am.”
We wrote these stories about ourselves at an early age. We have lost who we really are.
Our parents may have said , “You’re a girl so must be a nurse or a teacher and wear pink.”
or “You’re a boy so you must be into sports and wear blue.”
Whatever story was written for you or you have written about yourself through the years, can be questioned.
By being skeptical, we can get to the truth of who we really are indiviudally.
Why be something that you’re not?
Be Authentic or
Wear your cangue proudly!!
WHAT’S YOUR STORY?
When we believe in lies, we cannot see the truth, so we make thousands of assumptions and we take them as truth. One of the biggest assumptions we make is that the lies we believe are the truth!
Don’t believe yourself. Listen to your story, but don’t believe it because now you know that it’s mostly fiction. When you hear the voice in your head, don’t take it personally. You know that it’s usually lying to you. Listen and ask if it’s speaking the truth or not. Lies can only survive if you believe them. If you don’t believe your own lies, you can make better choices based on truth.
Don’t believe anybody else. You know that if you lie to yourself, surely other people lie to themselves. And if they lie to themselves, they will lie to you also. When people talk, you have no idea if what they are saying is coming from their heart or from the liar who lives in their head. Listen to other people tell their story, but don’t believe them. You know that it’s just a story that is only true for them, but listen because the communication can be wonderful.
You can change your life by refusing to believe your own lies. Start with the main lies that limit the expression of your happiness and your love. If you take your faith away from the lies, they lose their power over you. Then you can recover your faith and invest it in different beliefs. If you stop believing in lies, your whole life changes just like magic. You will be free of fear, drama, and conflict. This is the absolute truth, and I cannot put it more simply than that.

Ani DiFranco The Story
I would have returned your greeting
if it weren’t for the way you were looking at me
this street is not a market
and I am not a commodity
don’t you find it sad that we can’t even say hello
’cause you’re a man
and I’m a woman
and the sun is getting low
there are some places that I can’t go
as a woman I can’t go there
and as a person I don’t care
I don’t go for the hey baby what’s your name
and I’d alone thank you
just the sameI am up again against
the skin of my guitar
in the window of my life
looking out through the bars
I am sounding out the silence
avoiding all the words
I’m afraid I’ve said too much
I’m afraid of who has heard me
my father, he told me the story
I am up again against
and despite all the balls that I’ve been thrown
and I would have returned your greeting
